  1. Place: Fueng Far

Location/Details: Fueng Far is on 447 7th Avenue in Park Slope between 15th and 16th Streets.

    Dish: Chicken Pineapple Curry

If you’re like me and enjoy little ethnic holes in the wall that serve yummy food, you’re likely to appreciate Fueng Far. Everything I’ve ordered at this place (pad si ew, etc.) has been “good”, but their chicken pineapple curry is outstanding — coconut milk loaded with basil, a decent amount of chicken, chunks of pineapple, veggies, and an ample supply of crushed red pepper to give it all a nice kick. I don’t normally like spicy food but this has changed my mind! The key with this dish is the FLAVOR — it’s hot and savory with just enough pineapple and coconutty goodness to balance out the spice with some “coolness”. I’ve ordered the chicken pineapple curry here several times and every time it’s been consistently delicious. Just be on the lookout when you’re searching for the restaurant—their sign doesn’t have lights and the place is microscopic (it only seats about 4 people and is more appropriate for takeout than dining in), so it’s very easy to miss when you’re walking down 7th Avenue in Park Slope.

Staring into my bowl of chicken pineapple curry!

Hot n’ coconutty. Mmmmm. Served with rice.
